The worth of a leader is measured in influence, because great leaders invest themselves in others. Leaders mentor, counsel, challenge, and support others. Want to test the theory? Make a list (5 names) of the people who have had the greatest influence on your life. Beside each name, write the first attribute that comes to mind when you think about that person (i.e. wisdom, compassion, generosity). Commit to implementing those characteristics into your personal leadership arsenal every single day.
After a few weeks, stop and take a look behind you. I believe that more people will be following you -- just as you followed those who influenced you.
Enjoy the experiment! Becky
