"May God grant us the wisdom to discover right, the will to choose it, and the strength to make it endure." (Sean Connery playing King Arthur in "First Knight") In prior posts, I've written about the need to develop the intellectual side of your leadership and recently encouraged you to identify the source of your inner strength. But, will is just as crucial. And may be more difficult to cultivate.
Ultimately, will is about making tough choices. It's one thing to know what's right, and it's an entirely different thing to choose it. But you must choose it to be a successful leader. You must choose right when it's popular. And you must choose it when you are left standing alone.
Easier said than done. So start making the right choices today. And consistently make them. Exercise your will. It pays off in leadership potential.
Enjoy the exercise! Becky
