Take a few minutes tonight to do a signals check on your priorities. Here's how... 1. Take a blank piece of paper and make 3 columns: Personal, Spiritual, Job.
2. List 10 priorities in each column.
3. Rank them in order of importance.
4. In percentages, identify the amount of time you spent on each priority last week (total amount of time in each column should add to 100%).
5. Compare time spent with rank order -- are your priorities what you say they are?
Yeah, I know, this exercise hurts. It hurt me when I did it too. But, leading involves setting and maintaining priorities for yourself and others. So, better get the hang of it.
Enjoy becoming a better leader! Becky
