It was bound to happen. Someone in my circle of friends and acquaintances was eventually going to challenge me to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. I've seen many people execute on the challenge - my favorites are Bill Gates and Tom Watson. I've also heard people criticize the challenge by suggesting that those who perform it are only doing it for their 15 minutes of social media fame.
In the end, I decided to accept the challenge offered to me by friend and West Virginia University tailgate buddy, Drew Danehart. I hope my 15 minutes (okay, more like 15 seconds) in the spotlight will help to raise awareness and funds for ALS.
Regardless of whether you accept an ALS challenge or get involved in another cause that is dear to your heart, please remember our world is full of people who need a helping hand, a listening ear, and a strong shoulder. Please be that person for someone and pray that everyone will find support for their daily journey.
